Base Salary
$70k - $85k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production software using AI-based development workflows.
- Write precise specifications, technical plans, and acceptance criteria for human and AI execution.
- Review, test, and validate AI-generated code while owning its correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Keep codebases lean by avoiding unnecessary dependencies and over-engineering.
- Optimize AI compute and tooling costs as engineering constraints.
- Develop expertise in automotive retail operations and consumer vehicle purchasing.
- Solve moderately scoped problems with increasing independence and sound technical judgment.
- Experiment with and share AI development techniques and workflow improvements.
- Plan and prioritize work, collaborate with engineering, product, and design, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response to maintain platform reliability.
- Follow company policies, responsible AI guidelines, compliance requirements, and performance expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of professional experience.
- Strong command of at least one programming language and core computer science fundamentals.
- Ability to review unfamiliar code and identify bugs, edge cases, security issues, and design problems.
- Ability to learn and understand systems architecture and designs.
- Excellent written communication for describing problems and designs precisely.
- Curiosity about AI-based development demonstrated through coursework, projects, hackathons, or independent experimentation.
- A rigorous verification mindset, including testing unvalidated output and prioritizing security and lean code.
- Self-motivation, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, work independently, and drive issues to resolution.
- Preferred: substantive personal or academic projects using AI development tools.
- Preferred: exposure to version control, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Preferred: experience in a modern full-stack environment including mobile or web front ends, backend APIs, databases, or cloud.
