Staff Software Engineer, Build Platforms - VALORANT

Responsibilities
- Drive team-level technical direction and decision-making across architecture, maintenance, cost, and scale.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks across local workflows, Unreal build and cook systems, CI, release infrastructure, and developer-facing tools.
- Align VALORANT developers and stakeholders on priorities and deliverables.
- Lead the breakdown and execution of multi-month engineering efforts with central technology teams.
- Participate in the team’s support rotation.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience as a software engineer.
- BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience architecting and maintaining developer-facing products and platforms for complex workflows and emerging requirements.
- Experience building automated build, test, and release pipelines.
- Expertise with C++, C#, Java, or Go.
- Experience communicating complex technical subjects to people at all levels.
- Experience mentoring other engineers.
- Willingness to work with unfamiliar technologies and take on new challenges.
- Preferred experience with cloud technologies, Unreal Engine game build systems, Perforce workflows, large Unreal workspaces, content cooking, packaging, build artifact debugging, BuildGraph, Horde, game DevOps, technical leadership, large-scale backend systems, or game services.
- Personal relationship with games and empathy for players are valued.
