Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Java backend gateway APIs that route and orchestrate requests across downstream services through deployment and operation.
- Integrate ordering, payments, billing, equipment, network provisioning, and support services by calling APIs, translating service models, and composing responses.
- Design for partial failures, retries, timeouts, error translation, latency, and reliability across distributed dependencies.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and partner-service teams while expanding the platform into new countries.
- Use agentic development workflows, generative AI tools, and AWS-native services to improve delivery and operations.
- Review code, provide feedback, coach teammates, document software, and train new team members.
Requirements
- At least five years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- At least five years of programming experience in a modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience testing backend services.
- Preferred: at least six years of full software development lifecycle experience and at least five years contributing to systems architecture and design.
- Preferred: experience with test-driven development, dependency injection, API modeling, clean layering, and API gateway, orchestration, or backend-for-frontend services with many downstream dependencies.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee under applicable export-control requirements.
