Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Rust services across the Altra platform.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate AI/ML pipelines into the broader system.
- Work across networking, protocol implementation, and application-level services.
- Contribute to advanced autonomy features.
- Develop and test software using simulation environments.
- Build reliable software for resource-constrained platforms under real-world constraints.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of systems-level software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Rust or strong experience with C++ or another systems-level compiled language and willingness to work in Rust daily.
- Experience building distributed systems, particularly for unreliable or constrained network environments.
- Experience with real-time or low-latency systems where performance and reliability are critical.
- Experience in relevant areas such as video streaming, pub/sub messaging, sensor data processing, embedded systems, protocol design, or robotics.
- Experience designing or building systems that interface with AI/ML pipelines.
- Familiarity with Python for interfacing with ML/AI components.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Preferred experience includes production Rust, robotics or autonomous vehicles, sensor fusion, multi-agent systems, constrained or embedded platforms, Nix or NixOS, SITL/HITL simulation, RF communications, telemetry, datalink systems, or defense and national security.
