Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Java backend services and full-stack applications using Spring Boot and modern UI technologies.
- Build and maintain scalable microservices with API design, resiliency, performance, and operational readiness.
- Develop and consume APIs and securely integrate upstream and downstream systems.
- Design and optimize Oracle and MySQL data access, schemas, queries, transactions, and performance.
- Use authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Apply software development lifecycle automation and AI-assisted capabilities to improve engineering productivity.
- Ensure engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
- Mentor engineers, establish development standards, and provide technical leadership.
- Collaborate with product, UX/design, QA, and operations to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
- Participate in production support and on-call work and lead root-cause analysis and remediation.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- At least 5 years of applied software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot development experience.
- Experience with Oracle and/or MySQL, including SQL, performance tuning, transactional consistency, and data modeling.
- Experience with software design patterns, API design, and scalable maintainable solution delivery.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs.
- Knowledge of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and engineering resiliency and security expectations.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, technical ownership, and stakeholder communication.
- Preferred: AWS experience, full-stack JavaScript and modern UI experience, Kubernetes experience, and React.js experience.
