Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable backend and agentic services for Pika's products.
- Own backend logic end-to-end, including database modeling and API design.
- Design and build real-time systems with WebSocket connections and event-driven architectures.
- Scale backend infrastructure for throughput, latency, and reliability.
- Support internal tooling and operational automation to improve workflows.
- Drive technical decisions through RFCs and consensus-building.
- Mentor engineers via code reviews and architecture guidance.
- Debug, optimize, and future-proof backend systems for scale.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production services at scale.
- Proven experience architecting and scaling agentic solutions or multi-agent systems.
- Proficiency in modern backend technologies like Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Deep knowledge of database design and operations, including SQL and NoSQL.
- Experience with APIs, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
- Comfort building real-time systems using WebSockets and pub/sub patterns.
- Strong debugging and observability skills across services.
