Base Salary
$165k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain, and document software applications supporting cyber training environments.
- Develop user interfaces, backend services, APIs, automation tools, data processing solutions, databases, dataflows, scripts, and integrations.
- Implement and maintain software development pipelines and deploy applications in virtualized and containerized environments.
- Maintain automated grading and evaluation capabilities while protecting assessment integrity and restricted solutions.
- Perform software testing, debugging, validation, root-cause analysis, regression coverage, and production issue resolution.
- Support controlled releases, change control, post-deployment verification, and operational procedures.
- Apply secure coding practices and remediate code and dependency vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with instructors, developers, QA/Test, system administrators, and other technical teams.
- Evaluate technologies, improve applications and workflows, document technical decisions, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field plus two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree plus five years; or an associate’s degree or 18 semester hours of military computer-related coursework/training plus seven years; or a high school diploma/GED plus nine years.
- Experience developing with one or more of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Java, or C++.
- Proficiency with web UI technologies including HTML, CSS, AJAX, JSON/XML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and JQuery or similar.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL and relational databases, with MySQL/MongoDB preferred.
- Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Experience working in agile teams, including backlog execution, sprint ceremonies, estimation, and iterative delivery.
- Ability to specialize in UI/UX, Backend Services, or DevOps/Integration while expanding into another area.
- Experience with relevant frontend frameworks, backend services, APIs, dataflows, testing, virtualization, deployment, source control, package management, and project management systems is preferred.
- Ability to understand existing codebases, provide customer support and documentation, recommend technical solutions, guide development activities, and mentor junior team members.
