Responsibilities
- Develop major Oracle Database features enabling deep integration of application logic and data management.
- Use GraalOS to create high-performance runtimes for functions, microservices, and AI-driven logic.
- Translate research-level virtualization and systems programming concepts into production-grade cloud services.
- Diagnose and solve low-level performance bottlenecks across the operating system, hardware, and database kernel.
- Work with database internals, virtualization, compiler technology, and distributed systems in enterprise-scale environments.
Requirements
- Solid background as a Software Engineer at a mid-to-senior level.
- Deep knowledge in at least one of database system internals, operating systems and virtualization, compiler/runtime technology, or computer security.
- Strong interest in low-level systems engineering, including memory management, thread scheduling, CPU data movement, kernel work, assembly, and complex race conditions.
- MSc or PhD research focused on systems is highly valued but not stated as required.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Zurich, Switzerland.
