Responsibilities

  • Own the Python and TypeScript SDKs, including their reliability, performance, API design, error handling, batching, asynchronous flushing, and graceful degradation.
  • Design developer-friendly APIs, versioning strategies, breaking-change communication, documentation, and migration paths.
  • Maintain and expand integrations with AI frameworks, model providers, and gateways.
  • Maintain the OpenTelemetry/OTLP endpoint and support Langfuse features across additional OpenTelemetry-compatible languages.
  • Write SDK documentation, integration guides, and upgrade paths alongside new releases.
  • Manage projects end to end by identifying work, proposing solutions, and shipping implementations.
  • Engage with developers and the open-source community about integration challenges and product improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience building or maintaining SDKs, client libraries, or developer tools, ideally with Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of performance profiling, benchmarking, and minimizing CPU and memory overhead in hot paths.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and develop conviction about what to build and how to ship it.
  • Thoughtfulness about versioning, backward compatibility, and migration paths.
  • Interest in open-source software and enthusiasm for working with developers on integration challenges.
  • A CS or quantitative degree is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry internals or observability instrumentation is a bonus.
  • Contributions to popular open-source SDKs or developer tools are a bonus.
  • Former founder or early-stage startup experience is a bonus.
  • ML/AI experience or familiarity with the LLM framework ecosystem is a bonus.
