Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, high-performance backend features and core services at global scale.
- Scale systems supporting commerce, payments, issuing platforms, and payment and money ledgers.
- Build infrastructure for automated policy management, granular administrative controls, and accounting system integrations.
- Own features end to end from design and development through deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Address large-scale engineering challenges involving reliability, performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders across global teams.
- Promote code quality, documentation, monitoring, testing, and other engineering best practices.
- Stay current with technologies and industry trends while delivering maintainable solutions.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience building and scaling complex systems in fast-paced, high-growth, or large-scale environments; exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including JVM performance and optimization.
- Experience leveraging AI models and AI-driven development to build intelligent, automated features and improve engineering productivity.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, and API design, plus practical AWS or other cloud-platform experience.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining consumer-facing or core business products at scale.
- A record of delivering production-quality, maintainable code and supporting features after release through monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional partners.
- Commitment to testing, documentation, scalability, code quality, and technically demanding customer-impacting work.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Fintech or payments-processing experience is a plus.
- Comfort working in financial or workflow-heavy domains such as expenses, payments, ERP, or tax is a plus.
