Base Salary
$180k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build distributed software systems for manufacturing hardware.
- Write, test, and debug sensors, actuators, and process controllers.
- Design workflows that bridge manual and automated process steps.
- Evolve existing systems, including API development for machine behavior.
- Instrument systems for machine and process data legibility.
- Investigate and resolve issues across software, firmware, and physical systems.
- Establish and model software engineering practices for the team.
- Contribute to system reliability through observability and fault handling.
- Collaborate with engineers to translate physical constraints into software.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building or debugging systems with external dependencies.
- Proven track record of making and defending architecture decisions.
- Strong Python skills and proficiency in a systems or strongly-typed language.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, or observability tooling.
- Comfortable operating against incomplete or contested specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
