Responsibilities
- Build and maintain two-way integrations with systems of record such as Jira, Linear, and Asana.
- Design integrations across Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Office, video conferencing platforms, Slack, and other notification targets.
- Build shared integration frameworks, services, and patterns for use across Mural.
- Own content import, image, upload, embedding, PDF conversion, export, and download pathways.
- Maintain Mural’s public developer API and preserve backward compatibility.
- Lead technical projects from research and proof of concept through execution, release, and iteration.
- Deliver scalable, reliable, performant, secure solutions and manage third-party API failure modes.
- Plan and implement automated testing and documentation strategies.
- Participate in technical designs, talks, code reviews, mentoring, and process improvement.
- Use AI tools as part of regular engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping large-scale production software in an engineering team.
- Fluency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience using React, Node.js, or other modern frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with third-party APIs and platforms, including OAuth, token lifecycle management, webhooks, rate limiting, backoff, pagination, versioning, and graceful degradation.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver scalable, high-performance systems.
- Experience planning technical projects and delivering systems and features iteratively.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including leading technical discussions and navigating trade-offs.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams or Office add-in SDKs, partner marketplaces, or app review processes is a plus.
- Experience designing and maintaining a public developer API.
- Experience with Python.
- Familiarity with secure file handling at scale, including permissions checks, malware scanning, and content validation.
- Experience with content migration or format conversion between products.
- Experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments or startups is a plus.
