Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and operate high-quality software solutions, services, and reusable components.
- Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications using modern software engineering practices.
- Contribute to software architecture and design decisions and translate designs into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery practices.
- Implement unit, integration, functional, and system-level automated testing and test frameworks.
- Build observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities for production services.
- Investigate defects and production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
- Apply security-by-design, data protection, tokenisation, encryption, and technology risk management practices.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development productivity, testing, documentation, and software quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, security, and product teams and communicate technical decisions and outcomes.
- Participate in on-call support for production services when required.
Requirements
- Strong experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting applications or distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience building scalable, resilient, maintainable software for production environments.
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, software engineering principles, and software architecture.
- Advanced experience with DevOps, CI/CD, automated software delivery, automated testing, test frameworks, and quality controls.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, and test-driven development.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting for production services.
- Experience diagnosing software defects and production issues and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Strong understanding of secure software development, security-by-design, technology risk management, and integrating security controls into applications and delivery pipelines.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies and modern software platforms.
- Sound understanding of AI and data concepts and exposure to AI-assisted development and engineering automation.
- Exposure to data protection, tokenisation, cryptography, or related security domains is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-team technical influence skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
