Base Salary
$75k - $112k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test Mapbox tools and services for triaging customer feedback and applying fixes and corrections to third-party data.
- Solve workflow problems and enhance frontend and backend services based on business requirements, metrics, and user feedback.
- Establish operational metrics and continuously improve service performance.
- Maintain documentation for owned services.
- Collaborate with in-house editors to understand workflows and improve everyday service usage.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
- Proficiency with JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React.
- Proficiency with Node.js and server-side frameworks such as Nest.js or Express.js.
- Experience with cloud services including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, and technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, client-side state management, asynchronous tasks, and side effects.
- Understanding of REST architecture, SPA approaches, micro-frontend architecture, and common software design patterns.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, RTL, or Cypress.
- Familiarity with build systems, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, TypeScript, Jira, GeoJSON, and the OpenStreetMap tools ecosystem.
