Base Salary
$180k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship statistical, machine learning, and hybrid LLM models, including retrieval and embeddings, using real claims data.
- Design evaluations and gold datasets with data labelers and subject matter experts, and run them continuously as products change.
- Measure product impact through experiment design, baselines, and ROI analysis, and clearly explain results to product, sales, and customers.
- Take models and evaluations into production and use evidence to inform product decisions.
Requirements
- Typically 5+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or quantitative engineering roles.
- Strong quantitative foundation in statistics, probability, and experiment design from a degree, research, or equivalent experience.
- Strong Python and SQL skills with a track record of taking models to production and measuring their performance.
- Hands-on experience with statistical ML and LLM-based approaches, including RAG, embeddings, vector search, and evaluating LLM outputs.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted tools to work faster, with examples to discuss.
- Preferred experience with causal inference, survival analysis, calibration methods applied to business decisions, or fine-tuning models for domain-specific tasks.
