Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation solutions for database operations and platform management.
- Automate database provisioning, patching, monitoring, compliance, reporting, and remediation processes.
- Build reusable frameworks and engineering standards that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Support and automate Oracle database environments, including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and Multitenant.
- Expand automation across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and future database platforms.
- Write, test, deploy, maintain, and debug software and prepare technical documentation.
- Lead automation initiatives, mentor team members, and drive operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Typically 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience.
- Oracle DBA experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience with database automation, platform engineering, and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of Exadata, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Fleet Patching & Provisioning.
- Experience supporting multiple database technologies and modernization initiatives.
- Proficiency with Python, Linux shell scripting, Ansible or similar automation frameworks, REST APIs, Git, Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Experience with Linux administration, enterprise monitoring tools, and troubleshooting across database, infrastructure, network, and application layers.
- Agile delivery experience and knowledge of software design, application development, testing, debugging, distributed systems, object-oriented programming, version control, and technical documentation.
- A comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree.
