Responsibilities
- Own, plan, implement, test, and deliver maintainable features and components for securities lending workflows.
- Analyze requirements and data with business and engineering stakeholders and clarify workflow details with Trading and Operations users.
- Develop server-side services and integrations for trade capture, inventory updates, returns, recalls, and other lifecycle functions.
- Contribute to platform renovation by implementing components, adapting interfaces, and validating behavior against existing systems.
- Write automated tests, conduct code reviews, perform data checks and reconciliation, and investigate exceptions and failure scenarios.
- Support controlled releases and production troubleshooting, identify root causes, and implement fixes.
- Provide progress updates, technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and support to less-experienced colleagues.
Requirements
- Professional experience delivering production software and independently completing substantial features or complex project tasks.
- Strong server-side programming skills in Java or Scala, with knowledge of software design, data structures, algorithms, and maintainable code.
- Practical SQL and relational database skills, familiarity with Unix/Linux, and understanding of service interfaces and application integration.
- Experience with automated testing, version control, code review, and disciplined software delivery.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills, including tracing data and event flows and translating findings into fixes.
- Interest in learning securities lending, trading, and lifecycle processes, with the ability to understand business context.
- Clear written and spoken English and the ability to work effectively in a distributed team.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Valuable experience includes financial services, securities lending, prime brokerage, transaction-processing applications, messaging, event-driven systems, modern Java frameworks, distributed application troubleshooting, application renovation, integration testing, data reconciliation, CI/CD, production monitoring, and responsible use of approved AI-assisted development tools.
