Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering teams to understand applications, architectures, workloads, dependencies, and growth patterns.
- Translate application and business workload signals into infrastructure demand models and capacity requirements.
- Use observability and telemetry to analyze resource utilization, system behavior, and operational characteristics.
- Forecast infrastructure requirements and identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and resource management.
- Develop scalable capacity planning, forecasting, optimization, and resource intelligence solutions.
- Create common methodologies, tooling, standards, and engineering practices that scale across organizations and services.
- Define technical standards, communicate complex concepts, and influence technical direction across engineering and organizational boundaries.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience developing, operating, or architecting large-scale distributed services and infrastructure.
- Strong software engineering skills and proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience designing and implementing production-quality systems, tooling, and automation.
- Ability to reason about complex application architectures spanning technologies, services, dependencies, and infrastructure layers.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, data technologies, and containerized environments.
- Experience with metrics, logs, performance data, observability, and telemetry.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience with infrastructure capacity planning, demand forecasting, resource management, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, distributed data systems, traffic management, and large-scale service platforms.
- Preferred understanding of FinOps, cost management, procurement, data center capacity, cloud billing, and financial planning.
- Preferred experience applying GenAI, LLMs, or other emerging technologies to intelligent automation and engineering workflows.
- Preferred performance and efficiency engineering experience across application and infrastructure layers.
- Excellent communication, analytical, relationship-building, and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
