Base Salary

$66k - $152k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and improve AI-enabled applications, proofs of concept, prototypes, and reusable technical components.
  • Own defined features or technical workstreams from requirements and design through implementation and delivery.
  • Translate business, functional, and technical requirements into solution components, development tasks, acceptance criteria, and testable outcomes.
  • Develop AI-enabled web applications, APIs, application services, data integrations, prompt workflows, and enterprise-data connections.
  • Integrate generative AI models and services through APIs, cloud services, and approved open-source frameworks.
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation solutions, enterprise-search capabilities, intelligent assistants, and AI-enabled workflow automations.
  • Evaluate technical approaches, frameworks, models, and tools within security, architecture, client-environment, and delivery constraints.
  • Troubleshoot application, model-integration, data, performance, and deployment issues and communicate risks, dependencies, defects, and blockers.
  • Apply source control, testing, code review, documentation, security, deployment, and maintainability standards.
  • Review technical work and guide Staff professionals and other team members through development tasks and technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with engagement teams, technical specialists, data engineers, AI and machine learning specialists, designers, and client stakeholders.
  • Create technical documentation covering solution designs, data flows, integrations, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Contribute reusable components, development patterns, lessons learned, and responsible AI practices across engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3–5+ years of related professional experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance or higher.
  • Hands-on experience developing software, data, AI, analytics, or automation solutions.
  • Development experience with Python and a modern backend framework such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar.
  • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, Svelte, or similar.
  • Experience integrating generative AI models or services into applications through APIs, cloud services, or approved open-source frameworks.
  • Experience developing APIs, application services, data integrations, or secure connections to enterprise data sources.
  • Experience developing or deploying applications in a cloud environment such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or a comparable platform.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational or nonrelational databases, data ingestion, data transformation, and data quality concepts.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle practices, source control, testing, code review, technical documentation, and deployment processes.
  • Experience independently owning features, components, or defined technical workstreams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, prioritization, issue tracking, and risk communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with RAG using vector databases, enterprise-search services, embeddings, and related technologies.
  • Preferred experience developing intelligent assistants, AI-enabled workflows, agent-based applications, or secure production AI environments.
  • Preferred experience with cloud-native services, containers, infrastructure automation, application monitoring, Microsoft Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI Service, Amazon Bedrock, or comparable AI platforms.
  • Preferred familiarity with open-source language models, model evaluation, inference optimization, model fine-tuning, responsible AI, privacy, security, accessibility, and human-centered AI practices.
  • Preferred experience with government clients or formal security, documentation, and approval processes; experience guiding junior developers; and relevant technical, cloud, AI, agile delivery, or software-development certifications.

Benefits

  • Base salary ranges from $65,500 to $134,000 across US geographic locations and from $78,600 to $152,100 in the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California excluding Sacramento.
