Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale concurrent Golang backend services and APIs.
- Reliably propagate policy configuration across the global dataplane while addressing consistency, idempotency, caching, and failure modes.
- Use AI coding agents and review their output for correctness, reusability, technical debt, and security flaws.
- Maintain a lean codebase, review pull requests, consolidate common patterns, and improve code quality.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and convert recurring problems into structural fixes.
- Collaborate with product, UI, dataplane, QA, and platform teams across time zones.
- Shape engineering culture through architecture, design and code reviews, and mentorship.
- Participate in shared on-call and monitor the health of owned services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years working with backend services and distributed systems.
- Strong Golang experience with interface and package design, error handling, concurrency, performance profiling, and table-driven unit testing.
- Hands-on experience with Gin and gRPC.
- Experience with microservice patterns, REST/gRPC API design, event-driven systems such as Kafka, and caching such as Redis.
- Experience with MongoDB and MySQL, including schema, sharding, and index design.
- Experience developing, deploying, and debugging services on Kubernetes with tools such as Helm, and writing application-level metrics with Prometheus.
- Practical experience using LLM-based coding agents and evaluating their output.
- Ability to drive ambiguous problems to shipped software and provide specific, well-reasoned code review feedback.
- Strong verbal and written English with proactive communication and cross-team dependency management.
- Preferred experience with Secure Web Gateway, Zero Trust, CASB, DLP, multi-tenant SaaS control planes, AWS, GCP, Azure, GenAI and cloud service security, or regulated environments such as FedRAMP.
