Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded platform architecture and system software.
- Define software architecture, create development plans, and translate application feature requests into reusable software.
- Develop and maintain embedded applications for platform automation, control, data acquisition, and data management.
- Build software support tools, associated services, application software, system software, firmware, device drivers, and compute infrastructure.
- Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional engineering experts to define requirements and deliver features.
- Contribute to software supporting research and development activities across short- and long-term projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Industrial software development experience.
- Development experience in at least one of C, C++, Python, Java, Go, Rust, Scala, or Swift.
- Preferred: 10+ years covering requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, and maintenance across the software development lifecycle.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with gdb, lldb, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Preferred: experience with board bring-up and interpreting schematics and layouts.
- Preferred: strong software design, development, object-oriented or concurrent programming, debugging, toolchain, framework, and operating-system experience.
- Preferred: proficiency with the Unix command line, shell scripting, and version control software.
- Preferred: ability to learn new technologies quickly, work through ambiguity, communicate effectively, and collaborate on cross-functional projects.
