Base Salary

$74k - $166k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead early defect detection and prevention strategies across software development.
  • Define process-improvement methods to enhance software quality and reliability.
  • Conduct software design, engineering, and quality reviews for architectural and quality compliance.
  • Support Failure Mode Analysis efforts and identify and mitigate software risks.
  • Improve software verification and validation processes with cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze warranty, field, and test data to identify systemic quality issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams on software quality for infotainment, connected gateways, and telematics.
  • Coach and train engineering teams on software quality, ISO 26262, and ASPICE practices.
  • Contribute to process development and communicate complex software issues to engineering teams and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 10 or more years of software engineering experience in the automotive industry focused on quality, warranty analysis, or verification and validation.
  • 10 or more years of systems and Design and Release engineering experience in the automotive industry.
  • At least 3 years of experience with software defect detection and prevention methodologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience conducting software design reviews for architectural and quality compliance.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Failure Mode Analysis for software systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience implementing and assessing ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
  • At least 2 years of embedded software development experience with C, C++, AUTOSAR, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE and software process assessments is preferred.
  • Experience with DevOps, continuous integration, automated software testing, open-source software compliance, cybersecurity best practices, or automotive infotainment, connected gateways, or telematics is preferred.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and training skills are preferred.
