Base Salary
$74k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead early defect detection and prevention strategies across software development.
- Define process-improvement methods to enhance software quality and reliability.
- Conduct software design reviews for architectural and quality-standard compliance.
- Support Failure Mode Analysis efforts to identify and mitigate software risks.
- Participate in engineering joint reviews and quality reviews.
- Improve software verification and validation processes with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze warranty, field, and test data to identify systemic software quality issues and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams on software quality for infotainment, connected gateways, and telematics.
- Coach and train engineering teams on software quality practices, including ISO 26262 and ASPICE compliance.
- Develop and improve processes within the software quality organization.
- Communicate complex software issues to engineering teams and executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience in the automotive industry, focused on quality, warranty analysis, or verification and validation.
- At least 10 years of systems and Design and Release engineering experience in the automotive industry.
- At least 3 years of experience with software defect detection and prevention methodologies.
- At least 3 years of experience conducting software design reviews for architectural and quality compliance.
- At least 3 years of experience with Failure Mode Analysis for software systems.
- At least 2 years of experience implementing and assessing ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
- At least 2 years of embedded software development experience with C/C++, AUTOSAR, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of ASPICE and software process assessments is preferred.
- Experience with DevOps, continuous integration, and automated software testing is preferred.
- Understanding of open-source software compliance and cybersecurity best practices is preferred.
- Experience with infotainment, connected gateways, or telematics is highly desired.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and training skills.
