Base Salary

$125k - $195k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
  • Create applications that improve SpaceX operations and manufacturing.
  • Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
  • Own software engineering and product development from design through delivery.
  • Analyze user problems and create efficient solutions.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a scientific discipline, or at least 2 years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 1 year of full stack development experience.
  • At least 1 year of rigorous experience building single-page web applications.
  • Programming experience in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Experience designing software systems and improving application performance through profiling.
  • Experience with testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience with build systems such as Make, Bazel, Pants, Buck, or Gradle and package managers such as pip or npm.
  • Experience with UNIX-like operating systems and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Experience with in-stream data processing technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
  • Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Front-end experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework.
  • Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies.
  • Applicants must meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
