Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end portfolio architecture, roadmaps, standards, and major solution and integration design decisions across the Global Patient Safety ecosystem.
- Convert AI and agentic use cases from proofs of concept into governed, production-ready architecture patterns.
- Embed FDA/EMA, GxP, computer system validation, audit-readiness, inspection-readiness, and change-control practices into architecture decisions.
- Lead technical relationships with Veeva, Qinesca, and other vendors while protecting Lilly-owned architecture and design integrity.
- Partner with Patient Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Data, IT, product, engineering, and enterprise architecture stakeholders.
- Represent GPS in global architecture forums and influence technology investments, platform standardization, governance, and risk trade-offs.
- Mentor engineering leads, build architecture communities of practice, develop succession paths, and contribute to hiring and talent planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in IT, enterprise or portfolio architecture, or senior technical leadership, including 4+ years supporting pharmacovigilance or patient safety technology and processes.
- Demonstrated portfolio- or platform-level architecture ownership across multiple concurrent programs.
- Experience designing, deploying, or governing AI/agentic solutions and scaling proofs of concept into production architecture.
- Deep hands-on experience with pharmacovigilance systems and integrations with Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise integration patterns, APIs, middleware, ETL, data mapping, and AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in regulated GxP environments, including computer system validation and inspection-readiness practices.
- Experience presenting to architecture review boards or governance forums and influencing senior leadership on investment and risk decisions.
- Experience building architecture capability in global distributed delivery models, including communities of practice and mentoring paths.
- Working knowledge of Agile-at-scale and product operating model practices in regulated technology portfolios.
- Experience governing and negotiating multi-vendor delivery arrangements at enterprise or portfolio scale.
- Preferred qualifications include Veeva Vault training or certification, global technical leadership, strong vendor governance, strategic analytical thinking, and the ability to influence GPS, product, engineering, Quality, Security, and vendor stakeholders.
