Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical architecture, roadmaps, and standards across the Global Patient Safety safety ecosystem and connected enterprise systems.
- Convert AI and agentic proofs of concept into reusable, governed, production-ready architecture patterns.
- Embed audit readiness, change control, FDA/EMA compliance, computer system validation, and inspection-readiness practices into architecture.
- Lead architecture decisions, integration designs, platform standardization, and technical risk escalation across multiple concurrent programs.
- Act as the primary technical authority for vendor architecture, design, configuration, and delivery guardrails.
- Partner with Patient Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, IT, engineering, AI, and vendor stakeholders to translate business strategy into technology capabilities.
- Represent Global Patient Safety in global architecture and governance forums and influence enterprise technology investment decisions.
- Mentor engineering leads, conduct design reviews, establish communities of practice, and build future architecture leadership capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in IT, enterprise architecture, portfolio architecture, or senior technical leadership.
- At least four years of experience supporting pharmacovigilance or patient safety technology and processes, including case intake, triage, signal management, and regulatory reporting.
- Portfolio- or platform-level ownership of architecture decisions across multiple concurrent programs.
- Experience designing, deploying, or governing AI or agentic solutions and scaling proofs of concept into production architecture.
- Deep hands-on experience with pharmacovigilance systems and their integrations with Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Data platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise integration patterns, cloud infrastructure including AWS and Azure, integration middleware, and architecture development.
- Experience in regulated GxP environments, including computer system validation and inspection-readiness practices.
- Experience presenting to architecture review boards or governance forums and influencing senior leadership on technology investment and risk trade-offs.
- Experience building architecture capabilities in global distributed delivery models, including mentoring engineering leads and establishing communities of practice.
- Experience governing multi-vendor delivery arrangements and negotiating ownership between internal teams and vendors.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, analytical, coaching, vendor governance, negotiation, and cross-functional influence skills.
- Veeva Vault platform training or certification is preferred.
- Experience with global enterprise architecture or product governance forums and regulated product operating models is preferred.
