Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express.
- Design, own, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Structure and model data to support product features and analytics.
- Own schema design, query optimization, and scaling across databases.
- Manage deployments and infrastructure on AWS, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to system design decisions and improve data reliability.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor mid-level and junior developers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
- Deep experience with Node.js or Python for backend services and API development.
- Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases, preferably Postgres.
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL workflows in production.
- Solid understanding of system design, performance optimization, and scaling.
- Proficiency with AWS services like EC2, RDS, and S3.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code or Copilot.
- Comfort with React at a working level.
