Base Salary
$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain services and features for continuous compliance monitoring, risk assessments, and security baseline controls.
- Build and scale security data pipelines processing audit logs, telemetry, and vulnerability signals.
- Own compliance and risk engineering initiatives from architectural design through production security incident resolution and vulnerability mitigation.
- Translate regulatory requirements and security policies into developer-friendly automation with Security, Legal, Compliance, and Core Infrastructure teams.
- Conduct code reviews, expand automated integration and compliance testing, and improve system resilience.
- Streamline evidence collection and audit workflows while maintaining compliance with production benchmarks.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience in backend development, distributed systems, or data engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented or functional programming languages, such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience with data modeling, query optimization, and translating customer problems into system design.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience writing functional tests and establishing monitoring systems for code stability.
- Preferred: experience with security, risk, or compliance systems such as audit logging, identity and access management, continuous compliance monitoring, or GRC automation.
- Preferred: familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or PCI-DSS and translating policies into technical safeguards.
- Preferred: experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, or similar data processing and streaming technologies.
- Preferred: exposure to Policy-as-Code tools such as Open Policy Agent or Rego and cloud security control validation.
- Preferred: mentoring junior team members and making trade-offs between delivery velocity and security or compliance posture.
Benefits
- Seattle-based base salary of USD $171,000 to $190,000 per year.
