Base Salary
$200k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Evolve core data models and APIs from point-to-point architecture toward a resilient event-driven system
- Build and maintain scalable systems that ingest, process, and interpret real-time data from hardware devices
- Develop and maintain reliable integrations with EHRs and other third-party platforms
- Build clean, well-documented APIs for communicating with external systems
- Define integration and end-to-end testing best practices to improve development velocity and system stability
- Mentor and elevate engineers in distributed systems, AWS best practices, and secure development
- Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams on high-impact business challenges
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend or full-stack development experience building scalable, cloud-native applications
- Deep expertise with AWS infrastructure, including Lambda, Fargate, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and RDS
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js; React experience is a plus
- Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
- Strong understanding of data modeling for scalable and performant APIs
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code for automation, long-running processes, and complex integrations
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, verbal communication, and written communication skills
- Startup experience is a plus
