Base Salary
$164k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the long-term technical roadmap for pricing ML tools and workflows.
- Partner with researchers to define platform needs spanning data readiness, feature engineering, model fitting, serving, diagnostics, and monitoring.
- Build and operate feature pipelines and stores, reproducible training orchestration, model registries and versioning, automated validation, model serving, observability, and related tooling.
- Automate end-to-end data science workflows using LLM technology and agentic systems.
- Own major platform initiatives from design through production, including work breakdown, dependency management, and technical decisions.
- Write and review code, drive execution, orchestrate the software development lifecycle, and ensure reliable production service.
- Mentor and grow engineers through technical guidance and feedback.
- Ensure platform systems meet standards for reliability, observability, reproducibility, and correctness.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience building and delivering production ML platforms and large-scale data processing systems.
- Hands-on experience with ML platform capabilities such as feature pipelines or stores, reproducible training and orchestration, model registries and versioning, automated validation, or model serving.
- Strong system design and distributed systems fundamentals with experience building reliable, scalable production services and data pipelines.
- Working knowledge of the ML lifecycle, including training, evaluation, deployment, and production operations.
- Experience designing and operating systems with strong reliability, observability, reproducibility, and correctness requirements.
- Ability to lead ambiguous technical initiatives, manage dependencies, and drive delivery across multiple engineers.
- Experience translating data scientist or researcher needs into production platform capabilities.
- Experience mentoring engineers, guiding technical design, and improving engineering quality.
- Proficiency with Python and modern ML and data tooling.
- Strong communication skills with engineers, researchers, Product, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Preferred: understanding of ML models, inputs, assumptions, evaluation methods, tradeoffs, and production failure modes.
- Preferred: experience improving research velocity, experimentation throughput, deployment speed, or developer productivity through ML platform investments.
- Preferred: experience solving training-serving consistency, model lineage, reproducibility, or model-versioning challenges at scale.
- Preferred: experience building ML platforms in insurance, fintech, financial services, healthcare, or another regulated or highly data-intensive environment.
- Preferred: experience applying LLMs or agentic systems to developer tooling, research workflows, data science automation, or internal productivity.
