Base Salary

$125k - $145k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-fidelity real-time simulation software used for SpaceX vehicles
  • Develop prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints
  • Improve the reliability and performance of simulation software
  • Work with simulation software users to develop features and improve user experiences
  • Collaborate across engineering groups on models of fluids, electronics, and multi-body physics systems
  • Design, develop, and test core simulation infrastructure

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or another STEM discipline, or at least two years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree
  • At least one year of development experience in C++
  • Strong C++ software design and development skills
  • Understanding of distributed computing systems, networking protocols, memory management, and CPU scheduling
  • Knowledge of classical physics and mathematics, including algebra, calculus, and Euclidean geometry
  • Strong debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills
  • Experience with open-source C++ simulators such as ROS2 and Gazebo
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing requirements
  • Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required authorizations
