Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development teams to improve independent deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud services.
  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions for real-time infrastructure health insights and proactive issue resolution.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation for critical infrastructure incidents, IaC CI pipeline issues, and cloud networking escalations.
  • Design and implement end-to-end network observability across Kubernetes, VPCs, routing, peering, and cross-cloud connectivity.
  • Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code frameworks and workflows deployed through CI/CD.
  • Partner with technical leaders to strengthen infrastructure security through automation.
  • Advocate for cloud cost optimization and efficient resource utilization.
  • Promote best practices across development, QA, and infrastructure operations teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing and operating scalable, resilient cloud-native systems focused on automation, observability, and developer enablement.
  • Deep expertise in public cloud networking with AWS and GCP, including VPC design, peering, routing, NAT gateways, and service endpoints.
  • Programming experience in Python, Java, or Go for integrating disparate systems and visualizing data.
  • Experience managing and debugging traffic flows between Kubernetes workloads and cloud-managed services, including service discovery, DNS, and overlay networks.
  • Experience architecting network mapping and visualization solutions using tools such as Istio telemetry or custom Grafana dashboards.
  • Experience building and managing complex AWS and GCP networks and integrating them with Kubernetes.
  • Advanced experience using AWS or GCP cloud-native services with Terraform and CI/CD tools or services.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions including Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
  • Experience reaching design consensus with senior team members across a large organization.
  • Experience creating infrastructure through continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment workflows; GitLab experience is desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
