Base Salary
$190k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build integrations between Stream and the applications, services, and AI tools people use.
- Design tool definitions, result shaping, confirmation flows, and context passing for Stream’s agent.
- Own integration infrastructure including OAuth, token lifecycles, least-privilege scopes, webhooks, rate limits, retries, and failure handling.
- Build and operate MCP servers and clients in production.
- Develop reliable integrations for software without clean APIs.
- Instrument integrations to detect breakage before users notice.
- Contribute to the core backend and participate in the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience, with strong Python skills and experience owning a live real-time service.
- Production experience shipping third-party integrations involving OAuth 2, OIDC, token refresh and revocation, webhooks, API versioning, and vendor-specific behavior.
- Strong software architecture skills and the ability to work with applications the candidate did not build.
- Experience integrating tools into an LLM agent used by real users and being accountable for completed actions.
- Hands-on MCP experience.
- Generalist capability across backend development, authentication, client code, and agent logic, with the ability to take open-ended problems through delivery.
- Product judgment for software that acts on a user’s behalf, including when the user is not viewing a screen.
- Precise communication and explicit tradeoff-making.
- Preferred experience includes AI product connector or plugin work, Playwright or Chrome DevTools Protocol, integration security, voice or multimodal assistants, and developer documentation used by other engineers.
