Responsibilities
- Manage system uptime across AWS, GCP, and hybrid architectures.
- Build infrastructure-as-code patterns using Terraform, cloud CLI scripting, and cloud SDK programming.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for application and cloud architecture build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Create automated production deployment tooling and comprehensive runbooks for detection, remediation, and service restoration.
- Troubleshoot distributed architectures, triage complex service maps, participate in high-severity on-call incidents, and improve MTTR.
- Lead availability-focused blameless postmortems and own remediation actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, or equivalent job experience.
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration, and networking.
- 3+ years of experience developing or administering software in public cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience monitoring infrastructure and application uptime, availability, functionality, and performance.
- Experience with languages such as Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript, or Node.js.
- Cross-functional knowledge of systems, storage, networking, security, and databases.
- System administration and automation experience with Linux or Windows using Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools.
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices.
- Cloud certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical communication, troubleshooting, systems-thinking, and operational-excellence skills are preferred.
