Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and databases.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java applications into modular, cloud-ready, and microservices-based architectures.
- Design and integrate backend services, RESTful APIs, data models, and API-, file-, and message-based integrations.
- Provide robust backend APIs supporting Angular and React frontend development.
- Implement data processing and integration logic for analytical workflows and domain systems.
- Apply object-oriented design principles, design patterns, layered or hexagonal architecture, and technical trade-off analysis.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking frameworks, static code analysis, and adherence to coding standards.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global stakeholder teams on end-to-end delivery.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum activities, automated builds and deployments, testing, and ongoing product maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- MCA or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, object-oriented design, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Hands-on knowledge of performance profiling and memory analysis.
- Experience with microservices architecture, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate or JPA, and transaction management.
- Experience with API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations; Azure Service Bus or similar experience is relevant.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, cloud platforms, and Maven or Gradle.
- Understanding of product development lifecycle and Lean Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in product development environments and strong verbal, written, analytical, problem-solving, and continuous-improvement skills.
- Exposure to event-driven or message-based systems, Azure cloud-native development, shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is preferred.
