Base Salary
$185k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable, high-performing backend systems and APIs for Pika products and services.
- Build, maintain, and enhance distributed systems and cloud infrastructure while supporting high availability and reliability.
- Own backend features and platforms from ideation through launch and ongoing iteration.
- Develop low-latency systems for real-time collaboration and messaging at scale.
- Design and optimize backend features supporting generative AI-driven product capabilities.
- Lead technical discussions, review code, drive architectural proposals, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in senior backend roles.
- Deep expertise building distributed systems, RESTful and real-time APIs, and cloud-native infrastructure using AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes.
- Strong system design experience developing reliable, scalable backend services for high-traffic applications.
- Track record of launching impactful backend features while balancing technical quality and business needs.
- Ability to independently lead complex projects, troubleshoot problems, and deliver impactful solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in cross-functional environments.
- Experience with real-time collaboration platforms, creative tools, or media-rich applications is preferred.
- Familiarity with generative AI or agent-based systems is preferred.
- Experience at high-growth startups and competitive coding, hackathon, or open-source contributions are preferred.
