Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable backend services and frontend components for Spotify’s commerce platform.
- Design and develop capabilities in Java and Python services for high-volume, low-latency environments.
- Build and maintain pay-in functionality for payment processing across Spotify products.
- Run and analyze experiments to improve payment performance and user experience.
- Enhance system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful commerce features.
- Contribute to the evolution of Spotify’s payment infrastructure and SDK capabilities.
Requirements
- Experienced with modern JavaScript development, testing, and debugging.
- Experience building and scaling backend services using Java and/or Python.
- Familiarity with cloud-native environments such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience designing and maintaining libraries, frameworks, or developer tools.
- Hands-on experience with scalable databases like PostgreSQL.
- Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in e-commerce, financial systems, or high-volume transaction environments is a plus.
