Junior Software Engineer - Consumer Team
Clarity AIResponsibilities
- Own work across the software development lifecycle, from requirements refinement and concept creation through implementation, testing, and long-term maintenance.
- Develop and ship backend features and API endpoints using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Maintain frontend code and develop web application features using TypeScript and React.
- Integrate AI coding agents into daily development workflows to accelerate development and improve code quality.
- Write clear, concise, well-tested code with strong test coverage and clean code principles.
- Pair with engineers on features, infrastructure code, and production incidents.
- Participate in feature and bug-fix design discussions, team meetings, and retrospectives.
- Identify and communicate issues with product teams and development processes.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional work experience.
- A solid foundation in developing Java or Kotlin microservices with Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience using AI tools or coding agents and explaining how their output is prompted, reviewed, and validated.
- Commitment to high-quality, well-tested code and understanding of production reliability, scalability, and performance challenges.
- Strong English communication and effective collaboration skills.
- Frontend experience with TypeScript and React is preferred.
- Familiarity with gRPC, OAuth 2.0, Gradle, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, or Docker is preferred.
- Product-based company experience is preferred.
