Responsibilities
- Deliver resilient and sustainable backend software projects from design through implementation and rollout.
- Own minor features and contribute to larger features supporting card issuing, tokenization, payments, and ledger platforms.
- Translate ideas into clear, documented, tested code and navigate a large, complex codebase.
- Decompose business problems into solutions involving multiple interacting software components.
- Develop tests, fix bugs, review code, participate in agile team processes, and join on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and teammates and advocate for project and process improvements.
- Support mentorship of new hires, interns, and more junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and programming experience in an object-oriented language such as Java.
- Ability to deliver clean, readable, well-documented, tested, and error-free code.
- Ability to understand existing designs and technology choices and make appropriate adjustments.
- Clear, concise, and respectful verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional teams, accept constructive feedback, and contribute to a positive team environment.
