Responsibilities
- Support mainframe batch operations, including batch monitoring, CA7 scheduling, NDM, JCL, job tracking, and production-cycle issue research.
- Create technical designs and develop, test, and troubleshoot solutions from initial concept through production.
- Build and maintain automated build, deployment, testing, monitoring, and code-pipeline processes.
- Develop fault-tolerant, highly available, scalable, and rapidly recoverable application and infrastructure solutions.
- Create self-service capabilities for common infrastructure and application management tasks.
- Design and integrate services using REST, SOAP, gRPC, MQ, TCP/IP, JSON, and asynchronous or streaming technologies.
- Research technologies, demonstrate completed work, document procedures, and collaborate with engineering and business teams.
Requirements
- Experience with SOA, microservices, event-driven, and serverless architectures.
- Knowledge of Java/JEE, enterprise integration, SOA, and microservices design patterns.
- Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring REST, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Tomcat, JUnit, and Spring Test.
- Experience with RESTful services, SOAP web services, gRPC, asynchronous and streaming technologies, and ORM or persistence frameworks such as Hibernate, MyBatis, or iBatis.
- Experience designing and developing fault-tolerant and highly available systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native tools, including Kubernetes-based platforms, Prometheus, Grafana, Argo, Harbor, Helm, and Istio.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Bash, JavaScript, Python, Git, Jenkins, Linux, HAProxy, ELK, Kafka, MongoDB, and Zookeeper.
- Experience building automated deployment platforms across on-premise and external cloud environments.
- Understanding of server virtualization, networking, storage, scalability, high availability, and uptime.
- Experience with Agile development and test-driven development practices.
- Ability to identify and research operational problems, make recommendations, follow procedures and standards, and maintain documentation.
