Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based microservices under the guidance of senior team members.
- Design and implement custom components, reusable solutions, utilities, and engineering tools.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into development tasks and implement individual user stories.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering standards.
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests and contribute to test automation.
- Participate in issue triage, debugging, defect fixing, code reviews, and Agile team activities.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues and deliver assigned sprint work.
- Continuously develop expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, cloud technologies, and related engineering practices.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in Java development with a good understanding of Java 8 fundamentals.
- Basic understanding or project exposure to Reactive Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, data structures, and software development fundamentals.
- Academic, internship, or project experience with Spring Boot and Kafka.
- Basic understanding of Order Management Systems, with Sterling OMS or similar platform exposure as an advantage.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
- Ability to develop quality software using clean code principles, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Ability to understand and translate functional and technical requirements into software solutions.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and willingness-to-learn skills.
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP; caching and messaging frameworks such as Hazelcast or RabbitMQ; SaaS applications; and software implementation and deployment processes.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, test automation, unit testing, build and deployment automation, Git, and GitHub.
