Responsibilities
- Support development and application of physics-based EO/IR seeker hardware models for simulation, performance analysis, and test support.
- Assist with implementing and testing image and signal-processing algorithms within simulation frameworks.
- Maintain and modify modeling and analysis tools in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB in HPC and laboratory environments.
- Collaborate with systems, software, firmware, and hardware teams on modeling and simulation tasks, requirements, and verification activities.
- Support laboratory and test activities, compare model predictions with test data, and update models as needed.
- Prepare and present technical findings and support design and readiness reviews.
- Follow coding, documentation, and configuration-management standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline plus two years of related experience, or a master’s degree.
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance that is current and within scope at the time of application.
- Experience with image or signal processing and implementing algorithms in C, C++, MATLAB, or Python, including experience from internships or coursework.
- Understanding of basic EO/IR modeling concepts and exposure to hardware-based model validation.
- Knowledge of optical systems and EO/IR imaging fundamentals.
- Familiarity with simulations in high-performance computing environments.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and communicate technical results.
- Preferred: master’s degree, active DoD Top Secret clearance, missile or hypersonic systems experience, defense or aerospace development experience, hardware/software integration, real-time or physics-based systems modeling, Linux experience, and configuration-management tools.
