Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy infrastructure in AWS.
- Design and implement core software architecture and capabilities from prototype through operational applications.
- Administer and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and use Kubernetes automation tools.
- Build and manage container images using Docker or Podman.
- Use infrastructure-as-code and modern tools to define, build, and manage cloud virtual infrastructure.
- Develop automation and custom software components, including with Python or Go, and integrate open-source code.
- Maintain and optimize existing code bases and identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Work autonomously toward strategic goals established by team architects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a master’s degree, or 9 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; current Secret or TS/SCI clearance may be considered.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes cluster administration and troubleshooting, container build tooling, and Linux systems.
- Proficiency with shell scripting and experience with Python or Go on a POSIX-style platform.
- Willingness to travel to San Antonio, Texas, approximately 3–4 days every three months.
- Ability to work hybrid, averaging 1–2 days per week at the Columbia, Maryland office.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD tooling, Puppet, Ansible, Maven, virtualization, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, GitLab, and Big Data systems.
- Strong problem-solving, oral communication, and written communication skills.
