Responsibilities
- Analyze historical tickets and operational data to identify repetitive, manual, high-volume operational toil and automation opportunities.
- Assess, prioritize, and quantify automation opportunities based on frequency, complexity, repeatability, risk, business impact, and potential toil reduction.
- Develop automation scripts, workflows, runbooks, reusable components, and API-based integrations using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, and client tools.
- Use Dynatrace telemetry, events, problems, service dependencies, and AIOps capabilities to support investigation and remediation.
- Integrate Dynatrace with ServiceNow, cloud platforms, CI/CD systems, monitoring platforms, and collaboration tools.
- Design human-gated production remediation with validation, error handling, logging, rollback, audit controls, and recovery validation.
- Measure automation coverage, toil reduction, MTTR improvement, and recurring-incident reduction.
- Collaborate with SRE and AIOps architects and operations teams to deliver PDP2 Thin MVP use cases and production-ready automation.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in IT operations, SRE, DevOps, AIOps, or automation engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on Dynatrace experience, including APM, infrastructure monitoring, logs, synthetics, events/problems, dashboards, and APIs.
- Strong operational automation and toil-reduction experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting technologies.
- Experience analyzing incident, service request, and problem ticket data to identify automation opportunities.
- Experience integrating monitoring events with automation or remediation workflows and working with ServiceNow or another ITSM platform.
- Experience with Dynatrace Workflows, Dynatrace Automation Engineer, Dynatrace APIs, Dynatrace Intelligence, or Davis AI.
- Experience with ServiceNow Incident/Problem/Change integration, REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS or Azure infrastructure, cloud automation, Kubernetes/EKS, and containerized application environments.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness, Splunk, CloudWatch, or other infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability tools.
- Understanding of SLI/SLO, error budgets, SRE practices, AI/GenAI, LLM, RAG, or AI-agent-based IT operations.
- Experience developing automation business cases and ROI or toil-reduction calculations.
