Responsibilities

  • Implement and configure Drupal-based pages, content structures, templates, and reusable components for digital platforms and knowledge portals.
  • Translate information architecture, UX designs, and content models into Drupal content types, taxonomies, menus, views, roles, permissions, and publishing patterns.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, content designers, business analysts, communications specialists, and other multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Support editorial workflows, content governance, page publishing, quality assurance, localisation, and accessibility-conscious delivery.
  • Contribute Drupal-related assumptions, implementation considerations, technical clarifications, and solution input to proposals.
  • Participate in iterative delivery cycles, stakeholder validation, pilot feedback, and refinement of digital platform components.
  • Apply Git-based collaboration, configuration management, code review, documentation, and release discipline.
  • Develop reusable delivery patterns, CMS standards, and Drupal capability within the public institutional ecosystem.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of hands-on Drupal development or site-building experience, including at least 3 years of professional Drupal web development experience in EU institutions.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Drupal content types, taxonomies, menus, views, roles, permissions, configuration management, and CMS publishing workflows.
  • Experience with PHP, Twig, Composer, Drush, Git, and modern Drupal delivery practices.
  • Experience delivering content-heavy platforms, portals, knowledge sites, digital toolkits, or public-facing web services.
  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments, ideally involving public-sector, international, multilingual, or content-heavy platforms.
  • Understanding of accessibility, usability, performance, security, maintainability, digital service design, UX collaboration, and content architecture.
  • Fluency in English at C1 level and the ability to explain technical choices to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications include Drupal 9, Drupal 10, or Drupal 11 experience, multilingual Drupal implementations, localisation QA, Drupal certification, open-source contributions, a strong Drupal portfolio, and additional EU languages.
