Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop new features for Tiko’s software platform.
- Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate software using software engineering principles.
- Build secure software that protects information and personal data.
- Participate in team meetings, Agile rituals, and projects while coordinating with teammates.
- Document work clearly for future users and maintain awareness of new technical developments.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience developing Scala-based backend systems.
- In-depth Scala development experience and experience building software from the ground up.
- Proven expertise in functional programming principles and hands-on experience with the Typelevel stack, preferably Cats and Cats Effect.
- Experience with microservices and AWS is highly preferred.
- Commitment to software quality and scalability.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills.
- Currently based in Portugal, South Africa, or Kenya.
