Responsibilities
- Define and drive software architecture and technical strategy for Bose’s automotive technology portfolio.
- Architect scalable, modular, configurable, portable, and reusable software platforms across automotive compute, operating systems, and vehicle environments.
- Establish architectural foundations, abstractions, and interfaces for reusable software integrations.
- Partner with audio, acoustics, signal processing, and ML/AI teams to deliver production-ready capabilities.
- Translate changes in software-defined vehicles and the automotive ecosystem into platform and technology direction.
- Engage with OEMs and ecosystem partners to influence technical decisions and integration strategies.
- Lead cross-functional architecture decisions and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Mentor senior engineers and architects across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience architecting and delivering complex embedded or software platforms at scale.
- Experience defining architectures spanning multiple products, customers, hardware targets, or product generations.
- Deep expertise in software architecture and platform design, including modularity, abstraction, APIs, interfaces, configurability, portability, extensibility, reuse, and maintainability.
- Strong technical depth in embedded and distributed systems and experience with automotive or similarly complex hardware/software ecosystems.
- Ability to make consequential technical decisions under ambiguity and lead complex initiatives through organizational influence.
- Strong software development foundation with the ability to work from portfolio-level architecture through implementation-level discussions.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with credibility among engineers, leaders, customers, and technology partners.
- Preferred master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Preferred experience architecting production systems using machine learning, AI, optimization, or other data-driven technologies in embedded or edge environments.
- Preferred knowledge of audio signal processing, acoustics, psychoacoustics, perceptual audio, or audio system tuning.
- Preferred experience applying ML/AI to audio, acoustics, signal processing, perception, optimization, or physical systems.
- Preferred knowledge of automotive software environments, including Android Automotive, hypervisors, SoCs, DSPs, middleware, and hardware abstraction.
- Preferred automotive audio, infotainment, software-defined vehicle, automotive SoC/DSP, or automotive ecosystem-partner experience.
