Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate AKS clusters with enterprise guardrails including RBAC, pod security policies, node pools, autoscaling, and upgrade strategies.
- Implement GitOps with Flux CD, define Helm chart standards, and manage Helm 3 lifecycles.
- Establish container platform standards covering Docker images, multi-stage builds, SBOMs, vulnerability scanning, and base image governance.
- Configure Nginx ingress and Kong API gateway capabilities including routing, rate limiting, mutual TLS, JWT/OAuth2 authentication, and WAF integration.
- Deploy Prometheus and Grafana for metrics, alerting, dashboards, and SLO/SLA visualization.
- Lead Jenkins pipeline automation and GitHub Actions workflows for build, test, deployment, reusable templates, and environment promotion.
- Build infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code pipelines using Terraform or Bicep with automated validation, pull-request gates, and compliance checks.
- Secure and automate Azure Key Vault integration for secrets, keys, certificates, and cert-manager/issuer workflows.
- Design and implement Azure networking with VNets, NSGs, route tables, Private Link, firewall rules, egress controls, and hub-spoke traffic segregation.
- Operate and integrate Azure Blob Storage, Azure Redis Cache, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB with Mongo API, and Azure Service Bus.
- Lead platform engineering standards and cross-functional initiatives that improve scalability, security, compliance, resilience, and customer experience.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE roles.
- 2+ years leading teams or cross-functional initiatives.
- Deep expertise in Azure Public and Azure Government cloud services and resource management.
- Hands-on experience with AKS, Helm 3, Flux CD, GitOps, and Docker.
- Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for metrics, alerting, and dashboards.
- Proficiency with Nginx and Kong for ingress and API gateway functions.
- Experience automating CI/CD with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Strong automation and debugging development skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Proven infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, and secure SDLC integration experience using Terraform or similar tools such as Bicep.
- Ability and willingness to obtain GSA Tier 2 Suitability Clearance.
- Preferred experience with Azure Government, FedRAMP controls, and Authority to Operate support.
- Preferred certifications include AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, CKA/CKAD, and Terraform Associate.
