Responsibilities
- Define and help implement CircleCI’s end-to-end agentic software development lifecycle.
- Build and support shared internal platforms and developer tooling used by other engineering teams.
- Evaluate coding agents, agent harnesses, models, vendors, open-source tools, and repository patterns.
- Instrument agent usage and outcomes to measure throughput, quality, cost, model choice, and reliability.
- Drive adoption by understanding engineering workflows and shaping tools that fit how teams operate.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions and establish standards for agentic development workflows.
- Write design documents, lead cross-team technical discussions, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Direct experience driving an agentic developer experience initiative that changed how an engineering organization builds software with AI agents.
- Daily hands-on experience with coding agents, agent harnesses, MCP, and skills or prompt design.
- Experience building and supporting internal platforms or developer tooling relied upon by other engineers, including driving adoption.
- Production backend engineering depth in Go, including API design, data modeling, and service integration.
- 8+ years of production engineering experience with staff-level technical decisions spanning multiple teams.
- Ability to understand the needs of multiple engineering teams, make clear tradeoffs, document decisions, and build alignment.

- Canada base pay range: $195,000—$265,000 CAD per year.
- United Kingdom base pay range: £125,000—£170,000 GBP per year.
