Responsibilities
- Own the Insights AI architecture and technical direction, including context, agent tools, and output-quality measurement.
- Set the AI quality bar and make evaluations a required gate before changes ship.
- Lead architecture decisions spanning Insights, Spark, and the platform, influencing teams without direct authority.
- Drive major Insights initiatives from milestones and acceptance criteria through customer beta and release decisions.
- Write production code on the most technically difficult parts of the system each week.
- Develop engineers through documentation, technical reviews, and reusable AI workflow patterns.
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of experience building production systems, with strong backend skills.
- Experience designing customer-used LLM systems, evaluating their quality, and balancing quality, latency, cost, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with search, retrieval, clustering, or entity matching over large text collections.
- Deep experience with distributed systems and long-running workflows.
- A record of setting technical direction across multiple teams or domains, including teams without direct reporting relationships.
- Clear written English and the ability to explain technical decisions concisely from the customer problem.
- Legal right to work in the EU.
- Experience building an AI platform or shared AI standards adopted by multiple product teams is a preferred qualification.
- Founder or founding-engineer experience taking an AI product from idea to paying customers is preferred.
- Experience with product management, analytics, or customer-feedback tools is preferred.
