Responsibilities
- Analyze system, subsystem, and software requirements to define validation methods, test cases, and test strategies.
- Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, test cases, and test automation.
- Perform integration, operational, stress, laboratory, desktop simulation, and project-site testing.
- Investigate test anomalies, identify failure root causes, and prepare defect reports in the tracking system.
- Prepare test reports, support SWAT schedules and budgets, and communicate test results to engineering staff, supervisors, and customers.
- Plan, organize, and supervise testing activities while delivering work on time and on budget across multiple projects.
- Coach and train junior team members and provide technical leadership.
- Promote product safety by identifying and resolving safety-related defects early in the test strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of relevant software testing or software development experience.
- Working knowledge of C, C++, Perl, or Python.
- Experience with software development processes and tools, including JIRA.
- Strong planning, organization, technical writing, interpersonal communication, and English language skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and schedule work, and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Preferred experience in regulated industries such as rail signalling, aerospace, or medical systems.
- Preferred experience with real-time systems and embedded system testing.
- Preferred knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, wireless communication technologies, rail signalling, and CBTC systems.
